In what is either an astounding revelation or a botched outlier, a new CBS/New York Times national poll has the race between McCain and Obama back to even after the Dem convention and McCain’s choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. Both candidates stand at 42%. What’s bizarre about this result is that another CBS News poll done last weekend put Obama in front by 8 points.
